Inspired by an old photo of me and my Dad.

My Dad died in 2017 and I have painted him a few times since. There is something quite lovely and difficult about finding and losing his likeness during the painting process. This one is a personal favourite of mine.

An enjoyable mix of getting the detail right to find the likeness I wanted, and being much freer when painting the water.

I don’t see this one not being on my wall any time soon
